Early on, he specialized in the treatment of chronic illnesses. He was interested not only in the symptoms of an illness but also began researching its causes. He quickly encountered the limitations of conventional medicine, acquired a wide range of alternative methods, and over the years developed his own kinesiology-based forms of diagnosis and therapy (Autonomous Response Test, Psycho-Kinesiology, Mental Field Techniques), which have since gained a large following as Applied Kinesiology according to Dr. Klinghardt – ANK .

In 1997, Dr. Klinghardt founded the Institute for Neurobiology according to Dr. Klinghardt – INK, based in Glottertal near Freiburg. The institute represents Klinghardt and his teachings in German-speaking countries, trains teachers for the method, organizes therapist training and continuing education, creates documentation and teaching materials, and provides the necessary work materials. Furthermore, the INK organizes lectures and conferences on current topics.

Today, his focus is on the health consequences of toxic environmental influences.
